Currently: serving and shaping blobs. Former mapmaker, Gopher, ex-Googler. I run destiny.report, pgcr.report, gm.report and do things with the Bungie API.
Announcing destiny report Search and filter every Destiny 2 weapon by name, perk, frame, archetype, damage type, ammo, and source. It's fast. Scroll through all 1700+ weapons at 100+fps. More updates to come. Check it out.
enough. i’m tired of github actions. it’s time for github consequences
She's amazing, if you're Bay area based you should reach out.
I'm currently looking for some mix of Rust and LLM work, with a focus on Bay Area hybrid roles. I'm in the pipeline at a couple of places, but I'm open to exploring opportunities so please reach out if there's anything that you think might be a good fit (DMs open)
The For You feed by @spacecowboy17.bsky.social is so good I forget there's a follow button. Really cool that it runs "on prem"

You can't make this shit up. No, I'm not paid to post on fucking BlueSky. If anything, I heavily regret engaging with these weirdos. What amount would even make it worth the psychic damage? Speaking out against the atrocities of dairy farms does not mean I support war crimes! Fucking hell.
The second edition of Designing Data-Intensive Applications, by myself and @chris.blue, is finished and sent off to the printers! Ebooks should be available in the next week, and print books in 3–4 weeks. Sigh of relief. 😅 (BTW, this is a good opportunity to support your favourite local bookshop!)

I'm building a workspace-oriented virtual machine manager. COW overlay filesystem, network stack, port forwarding, observability. libkvm is a treat. 200ms cold start, sub 10s VM creation. init (PID 1) is a Go program and the TUI/manager is Rust/ratatui.
1 million hours played by D2 players in ~9 hours. That's an average CCU of over 100k. I see ~140k in game right now.
need to commit this one to memory mkdir drafts echo drafts >> .git/info/exclude

my windows+WSL2 experiment is coming to a close. Linux daily driver now (Arch/CachyOS, btw). Loving niri, waybar, wofi. Niri really is a fantastic way to work. Each "desktop" is an infinitely wide ribbon of windows you can tile, scroll, and rearrange. The zoom-out view in particular is awesome.

Bundler belongs to the Ruby community
I’ve spent 15 years of my life working on Bundler. When I introduce myself, people say “oh, the Bundler guy?”, and I am forced to agree. I didn’t come up with the original idea for Bundler (that was Y...
