📣 Legislation update: The California Senate passed #AB1981! Child care providers have shown up day in and day out over the past 6 months to urge #CALeg to pass this critical legislation.

📣 Organizing WORKS. Thousands of providers called the Governor and showed up in district offices and at the Capitol to share why the #CABudget would make our jobs harder and ultimately hurt working families. And the state heard us, introducing legislation that responds directly to our asks.

License-exempt providers like Porcha, also known as Family, Friend, and Neighbor (FFN) providers, are an essential part of our state's child care infrastructure. Disaster relief funding needs to reach them, too!

We are disappointed that yesterday, the Federal government rolled back an HHS requirement that child care providers be paid by the first day child care services take place, rather than weeks after the month ends. But California can and should still implement prospective pay.
