El Niño is an absolute monster we have now surpassed the Super El Niño of 2015-2016 with peak expected in November-December 2026. We can’t truly know how significant the 1877-1878 El Niño was in equatorial Pacific clearly very significant, but this is at least strongest event in ~150 years.
