Eternally curious to the point of being annoying, or so I’m told. Aim to be encouraging Please don’t give me an excuse to bite you
NEWS: Trump just bragged about gutting endangered species protections so oil drilling, logging, development, and even military training can expand with fewer restrictions.

Time to offer this seminar again I see.
there are a lot of philosophical concepts that get egregiously misused out of the seminar room (and in the seminar room, to be fair). but in terms of sheer pernicious misuse "social construct" has gotta be top 5 somewhere and it's not number 5

I'm giving a public talk next Wednesday, August 5, on approaches to studying mid-water animals in situ. It will be light on technical details, and more conceptual and a journey to the deep than a regular science talk. Please join if you are interested! #marinelife www.bigelow.org/news/cafe-sc...

When Pauline Hanson bans journalists from some media outlets from her pressers, why don't the journalists from ALL the other outlets simply walk out in solidarity, and refuse to report anything she has to say? No radio, television, newspaper or online reporting. None. #auspol #JournalismIsNotACrime
I long for the day when one announcement will make us all so joyful even if only for a few days. #fxxxTrump

Offsider’s Frog Prince birthday Take 3 (final) Yes, I went full OTT this year.Too many mates have dropped off the perch in the past few years, I figured I could be off the planet by the time I got around to gifting all the froggies so might as well ‘go hard’ Meet Sir Basil the Kitsch
For teachers We love & remember those that encouraged us Thank you This portrait is exhibited as part of the Young Archies at NSW Art Gallery The young artist’s statement caught me as much as the, very accomplished, portrait
I have never been shown one advantage of using AI to write or research. Every single example of someone saying how they find it helpful is accompanied with "But make sure you check it because you can't trust it". Enshittifying your writing and research should not be an aim.
Another one bites the dust. Just *do the work* you lazy poseurs. You want all the laurels of scholarship and publication without the labour.
Those of you that remember me tracking down vintage ‘Frog Prince’ stuff for Offsider will know that I grabbed this ‘card jigsaw’ with both hands! Big birthday for Frog Prince today … there is a theme brewing … shall update as we go over the weekend (😉no prizes for guessing what)
A tip from the wise. Don’t throw away old letters from your loved ones. One day you’ll rummage through a drawer and find a letter from your Dad and smile/sob and it’ll mean the world to just see their handwriting. Trust me.
The gift that keeps on giving. The internet never disappoints. Wonder if he's met ole' mate, Cannibal, yet.
Friendly suggestion to my fellow accounts with decent followings: it is a GREAT time to start a weekly art show with your account to boost indie artists/crafters. Everyone is struggling due to AI and Etsy becoming a toilet. We can't magically fix everything but we can help some individuals.
Once a quirky bastion of amateur vulva jewelry and pet portraits, Etsy is now deluged with mass-produced goods and AI knockoffs. Some customers don’t seem to mind.
4 women murdered by men in 4 days in July, and these pelicans think the problem is the Family Law Courts, the definition of domestic violence, and paid domestic violence leave. Just a reminder, Hanson’s son is a convicted domestic violence offender.
Literally ex-money. I say let anyone who wants to use this absolutely go ahead. They deserve everything they don't get.
