Having a rewatch of 'Wilt' today. 📺 I had a vague memory last night of my parents attending the premiere as my dad had a song featured in the party scene. I love these British 80's films. So much charm. And Mel Smith oozes charisma in every second of his screen time.

I've been obsessed by Enigmarelle since I read about him in Jan Bondeson's @forteantimes column. He was a fake humanoid automaton, he was exhibited as a scientific and technical curiosity around 1905 in the US and Europe. He could write his name, cycle, and other things!
I'm not sure many things sum up folk horror like the Thriller episode 'A Place to Die'. (S1, ep 7) I've seen this a few times, but on this rewatch - it chilled me to the core! A new Dr and his wife move to a small village where the villagers have some very strange beliefs!

Re-watching 'The Sound Machine' episode of Tales of the Unexpected. I always think there is something of the E.F Benson about this story. It concerns a man who develops a box which amplifies even the tiniest sound -such as roses being cut. A real slice of sunshine horror. ☀️🖤
