Theodor Adorno wrote that "A wrong life cannot be lived rightly." Trans people need to understand that we are "wrong lives". Our actions will never improve our standing with most Americans. But for the fact that I am trans, I would be regarded as having lived an exemplary life. Instead, I'm exiled.

Seeing a lot of discourse around trans meds again. I don't want anything to do with them. If anyone is trying to gatekeep transness, you aren't welcome in any community I am a part of. There is no magical threshold of "trans enough".

If you can do nothing else, you must survive as your full, gorgeous, authentic, God-given queer self.

When you'd rather have a dead kid than a queer one, allowing conversion therapy practices makes total sense. They don't want to deal with a living queer kid; they want to mourn the imaginary one they don't have.

So SCOTUS apparently is going to say a state can ban care that is recommended by every major medical organization (gender-affirming care), but can't ban care that is condemned by every major medical organization (conversion therapy). They're legally mandating/protecting medical malpractice.

Publishing at 7:30am Pacific time today (link in bio), I don't know what to call the emotion I'm trying to process with this, but the simple fact is that there are people with us today whose names will be on the list we read on November 20th.

You should absolutely read this if you are someone who knows about Preston Sprinkle. But even if you aren't, this is one of the best and most thorough write ups of what is wrong with Littman's ROGD study and of how it has been used in bad faith by anti-trans people.

Just finished Matt Smith era of Doctor Who - really enjoyed it, thought took me a while to get through. Loved Amy Pond throughout, and now Clara. Highlights include the Van Gogh episode and the whole thing with the Silence, as well as the special, "The Day of the Doctor". Onward to Capaldi!

I think it’s high time we take back the national narrative. For centuries Americans of all races, genders, religions, and abilities have worked to create a more perfect union, and we should shout from the rooftops that WE are America. Not these idiot white supremacist authoritarians.
