Introducing myself. Celsie Moseley, Junior Literary Agent.

About Me
I am Foreign Rights Associate and Junior Agent at Context Literary Agency, where I also assist the agency’s president, Tamar Rydzinski.

I graduated from Baylor University, earning a B.A. in English Literature. After a year teaching English in South Korea, I went on to earn my publishing certificate from the Columbia Publishing Course Oxford. Previously, I was the promotions assistant at the University of Chicago Press. In my spare time, I love to read genre-bending SFF with strong characters and unique premises. When I'm not reading, I'm often found playing video games on my PC, trying new recipes, or unboxing a new board game. I am based in New York City with my miniature dachshund, Ivy.

In all things, I am seeking writing that is piercing and commercial. I love unique voices and immersive, atmospheric stories that pull you under from the first page. I want the imaginative, the “weird,” and worlds that are as intimate as they are expansive. Books that explore themes of power, corruption, rebellion, class systems, climate change, liminal spaces, and intersectionality. I love offbeat, wry humor and characters that have the power to infuriate yet still keep you rooting for them

Celsie is looking for unique voices, atmospheric stories that pull you under from the very first page, and worlds that feel as intimate as they are expansive. She is interested in themes that explore power, corruption, rebellion, class systems, climate change, liminal spaces, and intersectionality. In kidlit, she's seeking whimsical and heartfelt MG and high concept YA fiction. On the adult side, she seeks genre-bending SFF, horror, and book club/upmarket fiction.

In fantasy...
cozy/light to epic in scope, richly imagined worlds, fully developed magic systems, and complex character dynamics.

In sci-fi...
grounded, space opera, futurism (solarpunk, afrofuturism, arabfuturism, etc.), sci-fi horror with elements of the New Weird or horror that embodies the cosmic strangeness of space.

In book club/upmarket...
anything that fuses genres to elevate broader narrative themes and turn tropes on their heads, sophisticated, socially conscious thrillers/suspense, literary fiction, historical fiction, and speculative fiction.

In young adult...
high concepts and strong voices with a compelling emotional core in fantasy (either contemporary fantasy or secondary world), grounded sci-fi, mystery/thriller, and horror.

In middle grade...
anything from fantasy to realistic contemporary where there’s a perfect blend of whimsy, adventure, and heartfelt moments.
