Same over here. @groundgamela.bsky.social is trying to claim they wrote my deputy gang series, and fighting that bullshit is taking everything I got.

I would be reporting more but @groundgamela.bsky.social’s retaliatory lawsuit against me and other journalists continues to force me into prioritizing other work so I can pay an attorney to defend their frivolous lawsuit. Don’t believe any of them when/if they ever say they support a free press.

And that goes for the politicians who also lock arms with GGLA. Some of them spoke out when the LA city attorney sued me but when the call came from inside the house— crickets!

A May 2026 report by Million Dollar Hoods at UCLA found that the L.A. County sheriff’s and probation departments have cost the county more than $1 billion on litigation expenses, including settlements, judgments and legal fees, over a 12-year period. capitalandmain.com/sheriffs-pro...

I spoke with Sheriff Robert Luna ahead of Tuesday’s primary election. We discussed the department’s work with federal agencies, enforcing a mask ban on ICE, and why he thinks a nuanced approached to deputy gangs is necessary.

Mike Bornman retired after 36 years at the LA Sheriff’s Department, and now he is running for Sheriff. He says he has a tattoo, but that does not make him a gangster. He points to his record of investigating other department members as evidence that he does not tolerate misconduct.

Sgt. Karla Carranza is running for Sheriff to fulfill a lifelong dream. She promises to continue the department’s current approach to deputy gangs and give the public a “stern” approach to crime.

To be clear: I have ZERO affiliation w/ Knock LA & its political endorsements, particularly of LA County Sheriff. Knock LA is a political blog of Ground Game LA. They are illegally displaying my reporting on their website. This falsely boosts their credibility & relevance.

Wow: Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, one of the biggest children's hospitals in the nation, will be forced to create the nation's first ever "detransition clinic" as part of a $10 million settlement with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a historic settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital (“Texas Children’s”) that compels the creation of the country’s first-ever Detransition Clinic; requires the hospital to pay $10 million for billing Texas Medicaid for unallowable and illegal ‘gender-transition’ interventions, including by using false diagnosis codes; and compels the termination and revocation of privileges of multiple physicians.

After a years-long investigation by the Healthcare Program Enforcement Division, Attorney General Paxton has negotiated a historic settlement that will help protect Texans. Under the terms of this landmark agreement, Texas Children’s will establish the first-ever multidisciplinary clinic designed to provide medical care to patients who were subjected to “gender-transition” procedures. This Detransition Clinic will help patients reverse the damage caused by ideologically-motivated physicians who harmed patients by performing dangerous medical interventions for the purpose of “transitioning” them. For the first five years, all services provided through the Detransition Clinic will be funded by Texas Children’s and be free of charge to patients.

Andre White is the youngest candidate in the race for LA County Sheriff. In this interview, he recounts retaliation he faced after reporting a supervisor. He says that current leadership is out of touch, and it is time for the department’s younger generation to lead.

When did we normalize this? When did it become okay for a president to tell a female reporter she’s a ‘dumb person’ for asking a totally legitimate question about his contradictory answers? Was there a specific date and time it become okay? Normal? Normalized?

Palmdale Lt. Oscar Martinez is running to be Sheriff of Los Angeles County. He supports the constitutional sheriffs movement and believes there needs to be AI implemented throughout the department. He doesn’t believe deputy gangs are real, and wants to see more cooperation with ICE.

Every time I’m downtown and walk past the fenced-off LA Times building, situated just perfectly between all these halls of power, where a local story could be chased down by just walking down the block, I get real pissed Private equity and the billionaire class really fucked us
