The dopamine hits don’t even satisfy anymore. I cycle through apps—email, texts, signal, socials—without even knowing what I’m looking for. I come away unsatisfied and a little embarrassed that I thought I would be *less bored* after an aimless search Beyond 2FA this hunk of plastic is useless

I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful

NEW, from me: Today, nearly 1000 workers at Mount Nittany Medical Center in central PA have walked off the job on a 5-day strike. The nearly wall-to-wall union (somewhat rare in healthcare these days) has been in the midst of negotiations for months. Their contract expired July 1.

🚨 WE HAVE A DEAL! After three years, in a major step forward for our members, we have ratified our first contract with @propublica.org’s management. We deeply appreciate everyone who supported us along the way. Here are some of our big wins👇

A graphic poster reads "We have a deal! The ProPublica Guild has reached a deal with ProPublica's management on our first contract and has voted to ratify it. Swipe for the highlights [pointing emoji].

“Over a half century, the Quicksand Economy transformed from tabloid newpapers to cable infotainment to reality TV to online influencers to AI facsimiles. Young people grow up longing to be a brand because it looks like job security. But there is no security in being post-human.” Great read

"Israel, Iran, Russia, Ukraine, the US and more are merging into a mega-war run by robots. They used to call these World Wars. They used to call people on the phone. The most common call I get today is from someone named 'Scam Likely.'" sarahkendzior.substack.com/p/quicksand

Stopped for the night in Flagstaff, and got a hotel right next to the train tracks. Been listening to the BNSF engines roll by all night and this morning hehe If you don’t follow me on instagram then you miss all of my extreme foamer content lol

I, personally, think public discourse surrounding adaptations of epic poetry by leading scholars in the field is fantastic lol Tickles the brain, man. Very good stuff

Twice now, I have walked into the living room while my aunts are sleeping and come across the two dogs watching fox news This is not an option on the easy buttons on the remote, lmao. I do not know how the two of them are turning on the TV and changing the channel
