Trying to get Claude to give me a counterexample to an open problem and looks like all I'm going to get is a stupid proof it's true.

Wow. Mathematicians really going through it today. “We didn’t think that conjecture was true anyway, and counterexamples are boring and don’t teach us anything.”

I had Claude verify it, which Claude dutifully did. Claude also flipped out, thinking it was being tricked somehow or forgetting something because this is "one of the most famous open problems in mathematics"
