Challenge It, Finchy!

Minnesota sports fan. Use your challenges! (Breanna Stewart traveled…and she wasn’t fouled.) Soon.

Summary: If Jaden McDaniels suddenly becomes a bad defender, the Wolves risk asking too much of Rudy. (We’re ignoring signing Ayo and Clark, who are both solid to good perimeter defenders… and they lost Naz and Randle - both below average defenders) Rebounding? Yes, that’s more of a concern.

“After missing out on their pursuit of LeBron James, the Minnesota Timberwolves have also expressed interest in Kuminga with their starting power forward spot up for grabs and their $6.06 million taxpayer mid-level exception available for the taking, league sources told HoopsHype.”

The Wolves are playing the waiting game to address PF. Several teams have a log jam in their front court: - Chicago (Wilson) - Dallas (Johnson) - Memphis (Boozer) - Milwaukee (Ament) All appear to be focused on getting minutes for their premium PF talent. Does that make these players available?

Okonwu is the ultimate target. Tim will find a one year filler PF (send Green+ TSJ or Donte). Assuming Joan develops as expected, Rudy to ATL for Okonwu (other pieces for salary match) will round out the roster for the long-term. LaMelo Ant Jaden Okonwu Joan

The Wolves likely path to a PF is moving Green and potentially another player. Moving one of Shannon Jr. or Donte makes sense as both are not likely to be here long-term (assuming Dosunmu is). The Shannon Jr. fit isn’t great now that the Wolves have a primary ball handler. Donte’s fit is 10/10.

Really wish NBA teams would stop bailing out OKC. The second apron is real and they have been able to successfully keep core players by dumping Wiggins, Dort, etc. Just refuse to do business with them. Cut them off. That’s how you end them.
