“You cannot kill me in a way that matters”—a mushroom
A really funny complaint about the Zohran discount grocery store idea is that non-poor people could use it when there’s a grocery store half a mile from my grocery store that has everything cost 20% more that rich people go to because they don’t want to shop with normal people.
Overheard someone at work yesterday arguing that art and poetry don’t have any value to society, comparing it to practical jobs like construction
James Carville threatens to leave the Democratic Party if we keep voting for progressives James carville’s wife is a Republican He was never in it to win it
Well after an ambulance ride, an ER trip, and a medication overhaul, I am fully overwhelmed with medical bills. It's my birthday month so I'm asking for help to even make a dent in all of this. Anything helps. T-minus 18 days until birthday. ko-fi.com/tinychaosmou...

the trailer for “your mother your mother your mother” is better than anything marvel studios was ever planning to do
here's a fun lil exercise for cis people: how many articles would a publication have to print calling for your extermination before you would expect people who care about you to stop giving them money? and how would you feel if their excuse for still supporting them is some fuckass crossword puzzle?
after a long shift at the screaming for no reason between 4:30 and 6:30 a.m. factory
Jareth the Goblin King said “I’m leaving here with *something*” and 60% of the audience volunteered as tribute.
Lots of arguments for Magneto, Ozymandias and Killmonger, but my money’s always on Darth Revan. I will also argue that Jareth the Goblin King was neither right nor wrong but behaving exactly the way that an ancient fey acts when some dipshit teenager invokes him to steal her brother.
Last: here is a trainer demonstrating what I mean by a hip grab. This is stage two. If they don’t let go of the other dog/animal in surprise when you grab the hips, you can also lift the hips off the ground like this and walk them back. The dog is too busy going “what the fuck?!?!” to keep attacking
And remember that even if your dog (like Bruce!) came out with only a few scratches, it will have a lasting effect on them—keep their next 48 hours VERY boring (no guests/bbqs / parties/ new dogs or people) and be cautious with dog intros for at least the next month
Oh and if you / your dog gets attacked by another dog and you do not feel comfortable calling police or reporting it later (fair!), document EVERYTHING. Your dog’s wounds, your wounds, etc. Keep all bills. This is usually an open and shut small claims court case.
If you feel able to call police you should, ESPECIALLY if you / family was bit by the attacking dog. Cops won’t do shit but put it on record, but that is very important as 99% of the time the attacking dog’s owner is like “oh they’ve never done this before!” welp they’ll do it again, bet
Dog bites get infected like crazy. Everyone bitten will need to go on antibiotics, trust me.
If your hands are on the tops of their back legs right where they join the torso, the dog physically cannot bend round far enough to bite you without moving their hips—which they can’t do, because you’re holding on to them
A dog attacks your dog/latches on. What do you do? DO NOT GRAB COLLARS. YOU WILL GET BIT. Getting bit by a dog is AWFUL, 0/10 Instead, GRAB THE BITING DOG’S HIPS. The dog will let go of the other dog to figure out what’s going on. You walk them backwards until there’s enough distance / it’s safe
It’s important to understand that when 1.2 million Americans are dying from a disease, any government action is excessive and tyrannical, but if a dozen trans women want to play soccer no government action can go far enough
I’m feeling a way about this because my dog got attacked on a walk today too, by a dog that ran out of its yard and tried to bite him. Luckily Bruce only got scratches. But let me tell you THE most important thing to know about breaking up a dog fight: (1/2) (imma also tell you some legal stuff)
my older sister and her sweet dog Starry were viciously attacked by a neighbor’s dog that got under the fence in their yard. my sister is a single mom who also takes care of our elderly mother with dementia. they need some financial help. gofund.me/e5dffb87f
The person argued that it makes sense that folks do not trust Hank Green anymore. However, it’s disproportionate in their view, to say that all of Green’s work is potentially suspect. I politely disagree. It speaks to overall integrity and it is wise to retroactively question his work
Another commenter said that the response is disproportionate I gave this person a personal reply because I think it’s a matter of perspective and that can be discussed
I’m reading that Hank Green’s wife and his brother who is also a famous person both had an intervention with him about his ai use This guy wasn’t using it to search, or grammar check
It’s also interesting that the immediate impact is to discuss Hank Green’s ai use in the terms of an addiction. I personally think this is probably useful and insightful for combatting ai but it does not escape my notice that gentle white fellows get to be victims of their own misdeeds
I never have and never will defend ai Don’t do ai It is pollution of the environment It is pollution of your very mind
My experience is of every American COVID-19 mitigation effort being obviously insufficient, and ended far too soon. To see people now argue that they somehow were too much, going too far? Not anti-vax or MAGA people, but folks just out here on Bluesky? It staggers me.
A nurse advocating for her pay, benefits and hours is directly benefiting the patients do NOT act like a nurses‘ strike is the nurses not caring about patients. You don’t want an underpaid, stressed out burned out nurse on her twelfth hour of her shift at your bedside.
@waitingforthetrade.bsky.social @oreganospice.bsky.social have you been keeping up with MAWS? there’s stuff in the new season that pinged my “Max and Tina would like this” radar

University of Alabama quietly abandons sexual orientation & gender identity nondiscrimination policy
Other Alabama universities still name sexual orientation and gender identity in their policies. The state’s flagship system no longer does.
