Husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, financial planner, scooterist, bowler, baseball fan, anime fan I am far more interested in what I don't know than what I do know.

The promise of AI appears to be: A computer will take over your job today. But don't worry. In about twenty years we'll be living in a Star Trek future of plenty in which work is unnecessary but everyone is affluent. There's no explanation of what we're supposed to live on during the 20 years.

REMINDER: A main argument against US aid to Ukraine is the US badly needed to husband missiles and air-defense for the possibility of war with China. Then the US used that and more on war with Iran. And the supposed China hawks said nothing, confirming that they were Russia sympathizers all along.

I don't know who needs to be reminded of this, but there is already a process for people to seek recompense if they have been the victim of vindictive prosecution by the government. They can sue, prove it in Court, and be awarded damages. There's no need for a "weaponization fund".

Here's what I'm taking away from the Katie Phang - Todd Blanche case. Right after Donald Trump was re-elected, the DOJ set a policy that anyone who claimed to be a victim of Jeffrey Epstein would be treated as a victim of Jeffrey Epstein. 1/3

Republicans talking about the SAVE Act as if it were about nothing but showing ID at polling places and Democrats object to this requirement. That's not what the SAVE Act is about, and that's not the reason people oppose it. They don't want to talk about the real problem with the bill.

I see these YouTube videos in which white hat hackers find internet scammers, disrupt their operations, and take their money. Why can't the cops do that? Why doesn't the FBI do that?

Even if you're a staunch Republican Senator you have to see what a shitshow the Department of Justice has become. DOJ lawyers are getting their asses handed to them by Judges, by opposing counsel, even by Grand Juries. Clearly Todd Blanche is not up to the job of Attorney General.

Why haven't I heard a single Democrat in the Congress, not even the most outspoken ones, mention that attacks on civilian infrastructure, like bridges and water facilities, are war crimes? Why are they so shy about this? Who does it serve? What do they fear?

Public Service Announcement While popular as a recreational drug used during sex among the gay community, the use of amyl nitrite (poppers) can trigger an acute aortic dissection in vulnerable individuals. Acute aortic dissection is what killed Senator Lindsey Graham.

You can't fool all of the people all of the time. Didn't get: * Epstein files. * Lower grocery prices * Lower gas prices * Affordable housing or healthcare. * High paying manufacturing jobs. Did get: * Grift * Political prosecutions * Incompetence * An endless, expensive, pointless, punishing war.

We're approaching the end of July. There have already been midterm primaries in a lot of states. Early voting will begin in about sixty days believe it or not. The Iranians can hold out that long. Can the pentagon's budget? Can consumers buying gas and groceries? Can farmers?

President Trump has usurped all of the authority of the Congress. He makes law by Executive Order and rulemaking. He repeals laws by not enforcing them, deregulation, or pardoning those who break them. He spends funds without Congressional appropriation. He refuses to spend appropriated funds. 1/3

So far, my favorite moment of the Trump administration came when Secretary Hegseth, Secretary Rubio, and J.D. Vance all spoke to the media, on the record, saying that no nation can be allowed to charge a toll on the Strait of Hormuz. It would be an absolute violation of international law. 1/2

No one is saying this out loud, but we all know that these illnesses that people are getting from vegetables are a result of human feces on the food. And how is human feces getting on thousands of heads of lettuce? Not from an employee failing to wash their hands after using the bathroom.

I'll just say it again. The two best ways to make MAGA shut the hell up are: 1. What evidence do you have to support your claims? 2. Will you repeat those claims under oath?

If you have *real* evidence of election fraud, you file a lawsuit. But if you are a pathetic sore loser who wants desperately to believe any fiction that excuses your actual loss, you go on TV where, unlike in court, you won’t be held accountable for your brazen and ridiculous lies.

Ken Paxton pretty clearly voted using a false address, but he isn't being charged with voter fraud because, well, he's the Attorney General and he isn't going to charge himself. But come 2027 there will be a new Attorney General who should charge him. He would have been safe if he stayed AG.

What does it take to discourage a customer from coming to your store if their plan was to drive there? How inconvenient does the parking have to be? How much does parking have to cost? How many one-way streets would stop them? My observation is that the barriers need to be pretty high.

A quick primer for those unfamiliar with UK politics: Nigel Farage was a leader of Brexit, which failed spectacularly and economically damaged Britain. He was voted out. He has returned as the leader of the Reform party, which is basically the Conservative party but focused first on racism. 1/5
