What a privilege to hear this important discussion about e-safety at Women Deliver 2026. So many thoughts about the impact of social media ban and how much work is happening to address online harm, violence and toxic behaviours. And.. how much more we need to do collectively @aeufederal.bsky.social
Education departments need to address this growing issue with clear policies, adequate resources and strong leadership to confront misogyny and ensure schools are safe, respectful places to work and learn.
It is very welcome news to see enrolments in teaching degrees increase, because for far to long those numbers have been declining. https://bit.ly/4adWJ9E
Public education changed my life. Year 12 at Streaky Bay Area school with amazing teachers made me rethink my career options from fishing to teaching #Proudtobepublic @AEUfederal - get your photos out & celebrate the wonderful institution that is public education
💬Teachers must be heard, respected, and treated with dignity. The government must immediately fulfill its commitments to teachers. Permanent employment and fair wages are basic rights. - @anand-singh.bsky.social, EI Asia-Pacific Director ✊🏾No violence, but support for 🇳🇵 educators! ➡️ eiie.io/4lT2T3J
There is an "urgent need for inclusive educational policies that address the diverse needs of all educators and learners, including those with disabilities." 📝 Our Executive Board just released a statement on #GDS2025 #CommitToChange #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs ➡️ eiie.io/3FOkyJB
In my public high school in Houston (San Jacinto), I learned about the Smoot-Hawley tariffs and how they led to the Great Depression. Trump went to an elite private military academy. He didn't learn about Smoot-Hawley.
The AEU, IEU and NTEU joined together today to speak out against Dutton’s attacks on teachers @nteunion.bsky.social @ieua.bsky.social
“Teachers are dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to provide quality education for every student. These attacks are a disservice to their commitment and the critical role they play in shaping the future of our nation.” @chaythorpeaeu.bsky.social #auspol #ausvotes
This week Peter Dutton made it clear he wants to interfere in schools, and tell teachers what to teach and how to teach it. We've seen ideological attacks on the teaching profession before. So where is the Opposition Leader getting his ideas from? #DontRiskDutton #ausvotes #auspol
We're on day #2 of our Week of Action, and today is all about proudly demonstrating your support for fully funded public schools online. Share this post, or write your own, and tell your social network why you’re voting for a better education for every child in public schools. #ForEveryChild
The Australian Education Union is calling on the Leader of the Opposition Peter Dutton to immediately come clean on his plans for cuts to public education. Read more: bit.ly/3DP9eMJ
Privileged to have @nazyoung.bsky.social, Professor for Indigenous Policy at the UTS Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research, speak about the importance of understanding the experience of Aboriginal people and Torres Strait Islander people at work.
In his address to this year's AEU Federal Conference, Federal Education Minister @jasonclaremp.bsky.social highlighted the life-changing impact of education and emphasised the urgent need to address the underfunding of public schools in Australia. #auspol
AEU Federal President @chaythorpeaeu.bsky.social used her opening address to conference delegates to reinforce the importance of public education, especially for Australia's next generation.
The irony of the richest man in the world almost single-handedly destroying an agency designed to help the world’s poor, so that the U.S. federal budget has more room for another giant tax cut for the richest man in the world and his pals, should not be lost on anyone. [Cartoon by Mike Luckovich]

Peter Dutton’s line that having a strong public sector is about “pleasing the unions” is just wrong. It is about providing decent services to Australians, something he clearly doesn’t care about. He wants to return to mass outsourcing to their favourite consultants #insiders

Thanks @billybragg.bsky.social stronger together, stand up and speak out against injustice and toxic masculinity
Zuckerberg's 'masculine energy' got its first big win with Trump declaring there are only two genders. This is an agenda that will see laws passed to push gays back into the closet and women back into the kitchen. Our trans siblings are in the front line of this fight, so now more than ever
