Brill time today at York Festival of Ideas where I talked abtJane Austen, Her Writing and her Craft to a lovely audience before co-running with @chloewigstonsmith.bsky.social an 18th century craft workshop (embroidery, shell work etc.) An incredible day with incredible bibliophiles and crafters.
It feels very meaningful to be read by a brilliant reader and thinker like @titachico.bsky.social Feeling a bit speechless (if you know me irl, this will come as a surprise) by this amazing review 🙏 📚

We launched our #18thCentury (a very long one) art wall at our new home in Heslington Hall, with help from the Univ of York’s art curator @helenacoxcurator.bsky.social. York’s VC Charlie Jeffery joined us to toast our wall and cut a festive red ribbon.
