More positively I am really pleased that SNIFF: A HISTORY OF SMELLS is out today!! Published by @yalebooks.bsky.social and out in all good bookshops. It's a history of smell across time and space that takes in a panoply of pongs and perfume from paper and ink to stink bombs and whale oil.
What a thrill yesterday to see #topiary trimming in action behind Univ of York’s @york.ac.uk Heslington Hall, home to our Centre for Eighteenth Century Studies. The original topiary design dates from the early #18thCentury & was inspired by Dutch gardens.

I am totally bowled over by this review of my book. The book came out nearly four years ago now, but this was totally worth the wait. Truly humbled and pleased the book speaks to people and that the magazine it's about is being enjoyed by so many readers today. www.romtext.org.uk/reviews/rt25...
