Out here in Chongqing, punking it up

Here's a sound editing technique to eliminate hum that I made up that I'm so proud of: sing the hum into a pitch finder; look up the frequency and notch filter it out. Not completely gone? Add the harmonics to the filter. I feel like a sound editing genius when I do this!

In 2005, I went to a party on a subway train to commemorate the line's decommissioning. It was called "1 Last Time for the 9," but Google's only results for that phrase are Ariana Grande. There's something poignant there about the "all-seeing eye" of the Internet, or maybe I'm just middle aged.

GREG DAVIES: seems like a kind of a shit task. Everyone just seems like they're going home normally. ALEX HORNE: well before you say that let's have a look at how Odysseus did. cut to panel of AJAX, MENELAUS, AGAMEMNON, and DIOMEDES who are all staring at ODYSSEUS with his head in his hands

Guys! I'm subscribing to things in 2026. Just subscribed to the Verge today. Am I early or late to this party? Extra data: I also have been a Wired subscriber since 1996 I've let my New Yorker subscription lapse three times, most recently because I don't want to be interested in rich people's kids

2024 called and it got me to finally try Balatro. First few hands: I don't get all the hype. This game is stupid. Poker is stupid. [Thirty minutes elapse] I am MODOB, Mental Organism Designed Only for Balatro. See ya never!
