Comic friends, I am having a brain cloud! There was a miniseries years ago where a fungus plague forced people to encampments and skilled drivers/transporters risked their lives to barter supplies. I can even see the art. What was this book? (Not a Last of Us related book)

Just saw the Burt Lancaster film Mister 880. While lighthearted and innocent, it’s a movie where all the characters have secrets and take turns being a step ahead of each other. Also, it’s not good vs. evil, more noble good vs. chaotic good. I liked it a lot and would love to see a modern version.

These are great. The one by Carla Cohen-Parrillo is jaw-dropping. I have a Nee Gods sketchbook in the works, so my only commission this #SDCC was to get Scott Shaw! to do the most oddball New Gods character I could find: Teledar!

A Scott Shaw! commission of Teledar, basically a balding head with headphones and sunglasses in a sort of chair/sphere transport. He’s saying, “‘Modok’ my ass…if I had one!”An image of Teledar, created by writer Jim Starlin and artist Paris Cullins, but this image is most likely by penciler Jim Starlin and inker Matt Banning from Death of the New Gods.

Getting a commission at #SDCC is one of the very best things you can do — it's a 1-of-1 exclusive of original art, from some of the amazing artists at the con. Our readers showed off some of their 2026 commissions: sdccblog.com/2026/08/san-...

Stopped in at Atomic Tiki in Small Press (L-01) at #SDCC and spoke with Steve Bryant and raved about his Shaken and Stirred Graphic novel he put out on Kickstarter. He also had a exclusive cover for his Athena Voltaire Summer Special which I jumped out. Very cool and awesome dude to chat with.

There's a new site called Moshpit.com with tons of free live music tracks from King Biscuit Flower Hours and more going back decades! I bought a J. Geils Band show from them in their last incarnation as Wolfgang's, and the quality was amazing. If you enjoy classic rock and live music, take a look!

Top Shelf Friday time, what's a comic in your collection that you love? ❤️ Every #SDCC I make sure to see lotekted! This year Horn Dog 12 was new to me, but ted also has a new collection of all 12 issues at punapress.com/author/lotek... It’s a pensive book, despite the funny title. #TopShelfFriday

After all these years, you surely know that I'm a man of my word -- and I give you my word: from this night forward, Kraven the Hunter -- will never hunt again.
