I have five Kindle copies of my book No Precious Truth to give away. WWII Leeds, police, spies, the Special Investigation Branch. A thriller with a female lead. If that's your sort of thing, drop me a private message.

You are going to love Virginia Cooper. I loved learning about how the Confederates sent people into the UK--I'd never read anything about this. As usual, Chris has done his research, but wears it lightly, letting the characters and the setting tell the tale. #booksky

A glorious outing to Yorkshire Sculpture Park (apt on Yorkshire Day).
Happy Yorkshire Day, one of the best days of the year. My partner's just given me a small gift this time: Lancashire. Still, it's the thought that counts.

Consider me gobsmacked. As part of Leeds 400, the Leeds Library, the oldest subscription library in the UK, polled members for their favourite books, and then listed the authors by popularity. I came joint eighth, along with big name and ahead of Lee Child, and, more remarkably, Jane Austen!
Only one thing has really been able to satisfy me this afternoon - a large chocolate orange milkshake. Perfect.
Probably the best headline I've ever seen in the Torygraph: Count Binface rules out pact with Monster Raving Loony Party
'Farage says it's an establishment hit.' 'What do you want to do?' 'Give him his wish. Make it look like someone who went to Eton and Oxford did it.'
'What about Farage?' 'Make it look like an accident.'
