IUPAC naming question: Why are the dimethyl groups listed before the branched substituent (in blue)? Both start with “m” and I’m not sure how to alphabetize. According to the rules, any prefix (di, tri, etc.) should be dropped, so we’re comparing “methyl” vs “methylpropyl”
