Some thoughts about the internet and "restorative justice:" morbid-field-notes.ghost.io/writing/the-...
The Internet Is a Workplace and We Need to Treat It Like One
How’s everyone doing? Good? Not me, thanks. My backlog of work has finally met the bottleneck of my burnout. My dog, best friend for 13 of my most formative years, is dying. Autumn, my favorite season...

the timeline is where solutions go to die. it is a Bad Faith Machine that works even when everyone is operating in good faith.
I’m at the Pizza Hut. I’m at the house of leaves. I’m at the combi s n e a v t a i e o l n fo esuoh & tuh azzip
the thing about internet paranoia is that everyone has it and all our art is about it in some way youtu.be/SN71mVtUP8M?...
They want you to be paranoid...

things have gotten so bad that it's almost impossible to find old photos online that aren't AI slop. trying to find one damn stock photo of a hippie from the 1960s on google images is like trying to find a needle in a haystack of synthetic needles.
Clavicular, the real-world Patrick Bateman, surprising absolutely no one
human centipede but it's the cast of thomas the tank engine
There’s a reason the first “AI actor” is a woman and there’s a reason they gave her vaguely childlike features…
only a few more months before we can no longer use the "we got x before GTAVI" meme, this feels huge
you *also* shouldn't watch the Harry Potter series because it's dumb and played out
these rich assholes are going to kill us all in the most innovatively dumb ways imaginable
404 Media@404media.co · 2mo agoSCOOP: 404 Media placed a tracking device in a shipment of rare books to see which AI company was buying it. What did we find? It ended up at an Amazon facility where Amazon scans and destroys books. Yes. This is literally the logo outside the Amazon warehouse door. Read now:
the absolute best thing about this is the word "dinosaur" being capitalized
Werewolf By Nat 🇵🇷🏳⚧@peanutbutterwhisky.bsky.social · 2mo agoYou can tell they're bitter that The Odyssey and Brand New Day were back-to-back hits so they're SCRAPING the ground at this point. There is no more barrel.
another second channel video- Saros was way more interesting than the industry gave it credit for.
What no one understands about Saros...

I'm a little lost, what circle if hell is this?
Retraction Watch@retractionwatch.com · 2mo agoThis company pitched us a guest post on "retracted trials that live on inside meta-analyses." Perfectly reasonable subject, but the text seemed fishy. Turns out it was *very* fishy, we now learn thanks to @emanuelmaiberg.bsky.social of @404media.co.
have you considered that melodrama and smut are valid genres? youtu.be/jR3TR2XOrPU?...

the term "bio break" is so controlling. like, don't tell me how to use my fifteen minutes, Susan, you're on a fucking power trip.
chat, to what degree are we rolling our eyes if I drop a video titled "the fascism of avoiding avocado toast?"
Linkin Park fans will not be trolled. learn from my mistakes.
Before this year ends, Grok Imagine will make a full-length movie of The Odyssey that is historically accurate and true to the art of Homer
this is why businesses don't support universal healthcare. they'd rather provide our insurance and maintain leverage than increase their margins and give us bargaining power.
NPR@npr.org · 3mo agoAbout 24% of U.S. employees stay in unwanted jobs just for health insurance, a report out Wednesday finds. Up significantly since 2021, the uptick in "job lock" is a concerning sign for the U.S. economy. n.pr/4gQIY5E
the internet feels like a dead mall now. which makes a lot of sense when you realize that the internet and malls were literally created for the same reasons, and then ran themselves into the ground with data collection and gambling. youtu.be/xB0MLdQ9O4A

enraged to be reminded that there's a livejournal account of mine floating around in the aether
Kat Abughazaleh@katmabu.bsky.social · 3mo agoI don’t understand how people can run for office knowing they have insane baggage and/or crimes. Like I spent the entire campaign expecting AIPAC to somehow dig up my middle school livejournal fanfic account. I prepared my family for it. I’m still amazed it didn’t happen.
oh so it's like rocket league but with people
forever grateful to the cooks for making me stand out in a 6hr essay. it was a lot of fun goofing around with them! my compliments to the chefs 🤌
