This new OLED TR7x7 screen from Addictive Instruments in France is a phenomenal bit of engineering, but having installed it into a TR707 I now realise I've never actually looked at the drum grid on a TR707 screen as it's entirely unnecessary to operating the thing and it takes too long read it.

Heres a feckin' stupid thing. If we send a 30 year old Yamaha drum machine to the US then because it was originally manufactured in Japan 3 decades ago then the tariff is 15%, but if we send an Alesis HR16 to the US then because it says "made in usa" on the bottom the tariff is 5%. 🤔

Roland TR727. Astonishingly it still works after replacing a few bits and pieces... to a certain extent anyway. The buttons board is a bit of a mess, but with a new DAC chip and some opamps the audio side works fine! I'm thinking thats the result of a house fire, and then a fire extinguisher. 🤔

Just removed some pedal board velcro from the bottom of a R100 half rack and the sticky goop its left behind is absolutely impervious to man made chemicals! Isopropyl doesn't touch it. Acetone is literally melting the paint from the metal around the goop covered areas, but achieving nothing else!
