📝 NEW: This is certainly not the last time we’ll speak on the City saga ahead of its end, but I wanted to offer a few more thoughts on it before we resume the club season. Primarily, I discuss what consequences City must face and why. thenonnegotiables.substack.com/p/why-manche...

Why Manchester City Must Receive Maximum Punishment

The reasons why no punishment that leaves Sheikh Mansour’s City side intact is a just one.

This is a huge stain on the integrity of what this competition is. This club has, according to the panel, corrupted the top league in the nation’s most-popular sport for nearly a decade and it took nearly a decade to deal with and it is still not over with appeal almost certain. A real mess

Kind of crazy to me that you had people giving Arsenal more hate for corner routines than for City's financial doping over the years. Or neutrals who would rather see City win because "Arsenal fans are annoying" Would love for this all to finally turn everyone against City as it should be

I'm sure nobody will have any issue at all with the outcome of those Manchester City charges, the club and their fans will accept the findings and we can all finally move on with our lives.

It's just so nice, in this hideous modern world, to see someone fail to get away with something because they can push political buttons and hire the biggest, baddest team of lawyers.

The investigations/charges only go up to 2018 but make no mistake: everything - absolutely everything - that City have done in the years since was built on the foundations of these breaches as well. And everything they continue to do in the coming years. There is no separating these things.

Great news. But until we see the sanctions, not much to celebrate but an example absolutely needs to be made of them. City and Chelsea are behind most of what people hate about the league now.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: Manchester City found guilty on virtually all charges relating to breaches of Premier League financial regulations. #MCFC expected to appeal against verdict issued by independent commission. Sanctions undecided, process ongoing @theathleticfc.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/athletic/704...

Really since there isn't a clear best player for the Ballon D'or they should retroactively give it to Lewandowski for 2020. Or just scrap an award that is entirely PR based and has lost meaning for crowning the "best player" Lost all credibility when Henry lost it to Nedved

So this is insane but its also highly damaging. All this shows is that players should be trying what Ballard did because the risk reward is so highly skewed towards reward. You can fake fouls in the box all day and force the refs hand and the system that SHOULD intervene to make the right call won't

KMI panel ruled 5 to 0 that John Brookes had made an incorrect call awarding the penalty to Sunderland for what he viewed as a foul by Ezri Konsa on Dan Ballard. However by 3 to 2 they viewed it as correct that VAR didn’t intervene.

So posting about Ramsey made me track down his highlights. Saddest past is the giant gap in goals between his backheel flick at the Lane and then the next goal is the final day of the NEXT season against Everton. Really sums up his Arsenal career. So good and talented but couldn't stay fit

If you asked me who my alltime favorite Arsenal player is. Fan since 06, really started following intently in 2012 or so. Grew up in the banter years. Aaron Ramsey really was the guy for me for a long time. Hard not feel influenced by the current team though. Ben White is a good shout and Kai duh
