Youtube has been recommending me MIT maker portfolios for the last few days, and honestly it's the most dispiriting thing. You can guess, with about 2 in 3 accuracy, if a portfolio was accepted based on the a/v quality alone. These kids have, often, tens of thousands of dollars of equipment.

The Orville is such a difficult show for me. At times it embodies the truest ethos of Star Trek, and it’s produced some episodes that should be considered among the best of Trek. But S1 is equal parts Trek and the worst bits of Family Guy, and even S2 and 3 seem to have routine off-colour bullshit.
