ELLA is a not just a home for research articles, but also for editions/translations of shorter texts that are increasingly hard to place in the publishing landscape. We think that this textual groundwork is important and should earn you a "peer-reviewed journal article" entry on your CV!

Why should you submit something to appear in the next issue? ELLA is truly interdisciplinary: we welcome submissions on any aspect of the history of Afro-Eurasia between ca. 100-800CE, and we want all your articles that may have trouble fitting in more narrowly defined disciplinarly silos.
