Health insurance in America is so broken. How many of y’all basically have a part-time job in the mornings, on lunch breaks and late afternoons where you squeeze in calling your provider during their hours to help them figure out how to progress a claim for yourself or family?

still can’t believe the spurs won that game and are going to the finals moved home to Texas last year and drove down to SA for several games because they were just a fun team to watch, these guys brought me back to the NBA, back to my hometown team unreal that they’re playing for it all now

Today the A’s lost. It’s entirely possible that tomorrow the AL West could be led by a team with a losing record The Astros are only 5 games back. Yes, they just lost Altuve for 6-8 weeks, but Peña returns this series. Soon, they’ll be on top of this trash division

I appreciate the AL West staying trash while the Astros fill the infirmary at historic rates The A’s, who literally can’t host postseason games, lead the division with a record one game over .500 You heard here first - the Astros will make the postseason to spite all the haters and then lose in 3

We're making a new local social platform with local folks, for local folks. It's called Roundabout. Today we kicked off a closed beta in 5 local communities across the US. Read how we're working w/ local stewards to design something people need & want to use! newpublic.substack.com/p/introducin...

Like many small nonprofits, we’ve been experimenting with using AI tools so that we can focus on our mission of reinforcing human connections, conversations, and communities. We remain mindful of the harms and risks of AI, and have developed a set of guiding principles grounded in our values.

New_ Public’s Guiding Principles for AI
We learn in public through transparency.
We keep humans in the driver's seat.
We navigate AI's inherent biases.
We embrace friction and slow, intentional thinking.
We navigate nuance and complexity by cultivating a flexible, evolving approach.
We design for pluralism and center the public good.
We empower our team through continuous learning and open dialogue.

One of the top reasons I love building at @newpublic.org is all the research, the core of how they work. SO MUCH RESEARCH. This work, led by @taliastroud.bsky.social (hook 'em horns) has already directly influenced decisions we've made with our new local social platform. Sign up and check it out.

We’ve got one of the most in-depth surveys on how Americans connect with neighbors online — what works, what doesn't, what they want instead. These are essential insights for anyone thinking about local communities. Join us 11/20 when @taliastroud.bsky.social & @eli.bsky.social share the data
