I got laid off today, with the rest of 18F. 18F was an elite federal software shop. We made gov't websites work better, more efficiently for the American people. We saved taxpayers from getting screwed over by contractors. And were fired for it. We made this website to tell our story: 18f.org

Weather balloons are normally launched 2x/day, or more. Alaska stations gather data on incoming large systems over the Pacific that gives the rest of the country a heads up to larger weather events.

Mike Nellis@mikenellis.bsky.social · 2y agoMinus the occasional Guinness, I rarely drink. Alcohol is terrible for you and the third-leading preventable cause of cancer. Credit to the Surgeon General for saying that out loud and recommending warning labels on bottles. Increased awareness will save lives and help people enjoy in moderation.
