Gonna be honest, one of the things that disappoints me most about the internet and social media is that writers get way less credit or respect than artists, video presenters/editors, streamers, etc. You can research an interesting story and write about it, but the influencers will get the press.
They’ve said the quiet part out loud, and shown exactly how few people would ever want this ‘feature’. It’s the same method gyms and subscription services use to make money and companies use to get newsletter signups. And it should be banned by law. Opt in should be required for most things.

Not sure if I discussed this yet, but those recent YouTube monetisation changes are really bad for creators on the site. 8K watch hours is brutal if you’re making shorter videos like songs/music covers, animations or tutorials. www.youtube.com/watch?v=D7iV... But the changes to shorts are worse…

That moment when the Light Dragon is trying to get Link killed in the final battle of Tears of the Kingdom…
It honestly baffles me how people are fine with amiibo as a concept. Yeah, it does something interesting in the Super Smash Bros games. But in every other case, it’s just setting flags to unlock content already on the disc. It’s on-disc DLC locked behind a pricy Mario figurine. It’s absurd.
An important heads up for anything looking for the Banjo-Kazooie recomp. If anyone can help take down this fake site, all the better.
PSA: Somebody who isn't us bought the banjorecomp dot com domain and is distributing malware while passing it as the official website for the Banjo: Recompiled project. DO NOT fall for it. ONLY download it from our GitHub page. If you know of a way to get this taken down, please reach out.
I’d say it should at least look different to Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Love how those games look, but using the same look for a third game in a row might make the title feel too ‘safe’.
Remember seeing this announced at F3, and thought it was really cool. Never in a million years expected to see a Donkey Kong Land remake, especially not one that looks this good.
THIS IS NOT A DRILL Donkey Kong Land got a remake! Kazquez remade all the DKL levels with new sprites, music and level design while still feeling really familiar with the source material. Check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-i3...

When it comes to New Super Mario Bros mods, the DS one has generally always gotten the short end of the stick. Okay, there was Newer Super Mario Bros in 2017 or so, but that’s about it. The game hasn’...

God this looks so cool! I remember following the development of Super Mario Galaxy 64 for years, but it didn’t look this insane back then. Can’t wait to try this hack at some point!
Holy shit after 10-years of no updates, the mod Super Mario Galaxy 64, that recreates stages from both SM64 & DS has finally showed up! It actually no joke has custom bosses and even enemies like Mr. I and the Bullies and they aren't model swaps either! HYPED!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=09tF...
Well, that sounds like a reason not to use Google Docs to share unfinished video scripts, game design docs or creative works. If you don’t opt out, it can apparently just show up in Google’s AI overview.

God, I feel for anyone working at Microsoft about now. Feels like your job is just getting cut on a whim regardless of how good a job you and your team did. And it’s yet another example of the devs getting punished for terrible exec decisions. How about cutting management or the CEO instead?

Not sure if anyone’s noticed this, but it seems like Nintendo secretly updated the first level of DK Island in DK Bananza’s Emerald Rush to be more of a linear tutorial: gamingreinvented.com/news/nintend... Not sure I like the idea of unmarked game design updates…

Gotta love how Nintendo leaked the next Mario Kart World soundtrack update for Nintendo Music: x.com/nintendoamer... We all knew this was happening, but still. Official leaks are always the funniest.
I’ve now maxed out the latest event in #DonkeyKongBananza Emerald Rush. A really easy one too, since this was my second attempt.
Have to be honest, I’m torn on how much I like these special edition soundtrack releases. They’re a neat marketing gimmick, but I always end up wishing it was the full soundtrack instead, or even a full soundtrack from a different game.
