There's a genuinely great Spider-Man movie inside SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY. Its emotional thesis about grief, isolation, and growing into adulthood is one of the MCU's most resonant. It's just buried beneath the plotting to justify unnecessary guest appearances. Giacchino's score is lowkey the MVP.

Here are my initial thoughts on #TheOdysseyMovie. It's a surprisingly haunting and heartfelt cinematic masterclass about the cost of war and defying the natural order. Fimmaking at this caliber and scale is nothing short of awe-inspiring. The in-depth podcast review is coming next week!

#TheOdyssey: Chris Nolan delivers the definitive epic of the 2020s—real ships at sea, giants towering above men, ghastly armies back for a final word. It feels real, imaginative, and instantly iconic. A surprisingly haunting and heartfelt cinematic masterclass about the cost of defying the gods.

#EvilDeadBurn: Absolutely maniacal degrees of gore & violence. Similarly to Final Destination: Bloodlines, it expands the franchise by creatively leaning into lore. It plays with fan expectations with a wink right before gouging its own eyes out. It’s a fun time for the die hard horror hounds.

#TheBear series finale was exactly what it needed to be. Emotional. Imperfect. Expressing the experience of collaborating with the very best people under less than ideal circumstances and immense pressure. It builds deep ties, trust, and a familial connection that transcends the workplace.
