I'm about halfway thru Whistler by Ann Patchett. I don't know that I've cried this many tears of joy reading a book before. It's such a beautiful portrayal of familial love. Really, really good.

An oil painting of a horse standing in a field facing the viewer. The sky is dark and starry, and a few mountains are in the distance.

Watched my grandfather, at age 95, take his last breath last night. He was surrounded by his family and died peacefully. It’s sad to see him go, but it was such a beautiful experience to watch it go so gently, in his own bed in his own home, with his grown children/grandchildren holding his hands. ❤️

Happy @kagi.com user of many years now. Whenever I accidentally end up using Google it’s a jump-scare. I’m reminded of just how far Google has fallen in their mission of organising all of the world’s information and making it universally accessible and useful.

That marks a full year with @kagi.com. It doesn't feel abnormal to pay for search any more, especially when I see others using Google and being force-fed made up nonsense and ads. I'm not an affiliate, I just think we'd all be better off being mindful about this.

"twt is dead!" "bsky is dead!" all of these websites are dead. we scavenge the bones, cavernous ribcages of bygone giants arching overhead like cathedral vaults. and in the diffused shade cast by these dead web gods, we grow gardens

Burned $91.34 with Claude Code /goal in 3.5 hours Unreal, It was able to reverse engineer my Amaran bluetooth lights so I don't have to use the crappy app

While the vanity metric is very fun, as 'supply chain attack' news increases, I'm feeling less and less comfortable with the fact that I maintain an npm package with 6M weekly downloads and 2.6k dependents… 😅

I went to an event tonight, and there was a close-up magician working the crowd. He was fantastic. It was both a joy to be completely fooled, and even more a joy to watch my friends’ shocked expressions as the card in their hand switched from a club to a heart. Gotta see some live magic. So much fun

Spinning up new Laravel apps via an agent? v5.27.0 of the Laravel Installer automatically detects when it is running within an agent, suppresses all decorative output, and returns concise JSON on both success and failure Less noise, more signal ✌️

incredible job list page from the details down to the presentation. As much as you three want to work with someone who cares (as is clear from the listing), people want to work for places that also care (again, as you clearly do from the listing)
