Just realised the reason I can't pitch my writing to mainstream is because I tend to write genre-blending genre fiction in the style of John Gardner and Robert Nye, and I also want to make people laugh. But it's a hard sell when your comps are all 1970s classics that sold for 40p a pop

Amir is currently sharing his sister's phone (she also has to use it), which isn't great either. Someone nearby is selling a better one for a v high price - if he can raise the money for it then they can get a lifeline back.
