You may have heard that the W is a "bigs' league" and that is certainly true, not just because some of the best offensive players are bigs. It is easier for good defenses and rim protectors to just deny rim attempts outright, here's a look at the best ones... (formula in reply)
you've heard of the "possession battle" but what does it mean? it comes down to how many extra "True Shot Attempts" (FGA+FT line trips) you can create compared to your opponent through: - generating more OREBs and more opp. TOVs - preventing TOVs and opp. OREBs
Here's the spreadsheet I had for my rookie rankings, weren't made purely based on it but some numbers definitely lead to further digginig/opinion shifting docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

"What if the WNBA had 3 all-rookie teams?" is the question I asked myself. Here is my 3rd team including rankings. 🧵with stats+words below graphic made by irisnuke on twitter, someone please hire her she's great :)
Top 4 WNBA MVP candidates and their global offensive impact: - AT is the worst scorer here but still is right there in terms of impact - Making short mid range shots at layup efficiency bends the defense but doesn't generate layups - Phee upscale possible? - Aces NEED A'ja
Tried to compare the rookie seasons of both Paige and Caitlin in terms of offensive impact - Paige has a very similar footprint to SGA - Caitlin generated sooo many rim points - Paige would probably look better on a better team - Fever somehow scored more from 3 without CC
WNBA playoff teams NET ratings with their top 3 players, starting 5s* and also 5 and 4+ of their top 7* players on the court *current starting 5s and rotations if the playoffs started today so no longterm injured players
ARIKE OGUNBOWALE POSITIVE PROCESS 🧵 The Wings' star has now played 3 games since her return from a thumb injury and has shown some very encouraging signs of fitting into coach Koclanes' offensive vision..
The 2025 Chicago Sky have certainly been an experience. One of the bright spots of that experience is the recent addition to their starting lineup, Rachel Banham... 🧵
Final draft board is set. More movement than expected: some late risers, a few tough drops. Took a step back to reassess the big picture. Tried to balance film, data, and role projection, and especially who I trust to earn a second contract in the new CBA. 🔗 docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

If you know me, you know I love role players that have all the complementary skills and add a little extra on top. It's incredibly difficult to find that in a rookie but the Phoenix Mercury seem to have done so with Monique Akoa Makani, Zo-star no.5...🧵
It's time for Zo-stars mini thread #4. Today we'll look at an elite veteran presence both on the court and in the locker room, Stefanie Dolson of the Washington Mystics... 🧵
In Zo-stars mini thread #3 we're looking at Sun rookie Saniya Rivers and why you should be tapping into Sun games just to watch her... 🧵
Another Zo-stars mini thread, this time on Valkyries rookie Janelle Salaün and why they will miss her while she competes in EuroBasket, where she dropped 22 in the opener for France today, let's dive in... 🧵
First, the Naz Hillmon mini thread 🧵...
The 2025 Zo-stars (I was asked to post this and the threads on here as well) Excluded likely all-stars from the start. Had to limit myself to 1 player per team, the shortlist was 30+ names. I only researched this after making the picks but pretty much everyone turned out to be an on/off demon

Lunar Owls were 1st in eFG%, FT rate and TOV%, also the best at forcing turnovers. They had the 3rd best defense (101.4 drtg, -4.8 from average) and of course the best offense (119.3 ortg, +13.1!!). Overall a +17.9 net rating, pure dominance. Acknowledge The Sack Man 💰
The Laces love this SLOB set. Get/handback into PnR, AB's forced to switch, Kate goes to work against the mismatch
Get action into spain for the Laces again, once again ends up in an open 3 for Tip Hayes. They seem to like this set.
Back to back actions are very difficult to guard in 3x3, which is why especially Laces and Vinyl have been spamming them. Small advantage from the initial action (here a get, usually an off-ball screen) opens up a breakdown on the second one
Cool sequence here, pindown for KLS turns into a pin-in as Rickea goes under, the Mist push the pace, Sloot is in the paint in 4 (!!) seconds, the X out is good but it's hard to be there in time
The give and go is nice but I really like how the Laces set up the entry pass with AT (once again) diving out of a screen, a lot of possible advantages
Flare for Tip gets switched, flare for K-Mac doesn't, the curl makes BG drop a step lower which puts her out of position on the DHO. K-Mac stays patient, draws BG up which frees up the roll
Cute little ATO by the Laces The playcall is get action into spain, AT reads the defence and dives, nobody's there to switch, open 3
