If you get “canceled countless times” and you’re appearing in New York Magazine, it kinda makes me wonder if you were actually cancelled. Or maybe you were canceled so hard that I never heard of you in the first place. Sorry that you’re still just a warm-up act.

I’ve been canceled countless times since I started doing comedy online as a teen, the actor and comedian Ivy Wolk writes. Changing minds is not my goal anymore.

I’m personally enjoying the final death of the Kennedys’ hold on American politics. Not that I think that I think that his dad and uncle were as great as their hagiography has made them out to be, but this fuckin’ guy will forever be the last memory of that family as icons of American politics.

RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

I'm going to try to do this cleanly. Today's right wing governments are networked to each other. Those networks are well-documented. You can read about them in books. Following the elections in one node of that network is good practice for understanding the U.S. node.

I just think Matt's wrong about this. We're at a point in our technological development where a ton of problems spill over national borders--if Flavio Bolsonaro burns down the Amazon, that will flood houses in Miami.

A Matt Yglesias post, with the text:
Earnest take: I think it's probably not healthy for the practice of democratic self-government that so many people have developed strong rooting interests in elections in countries they don't live in.

ANCHOR: Mr Ossoff, are you planning to run for President in 2028? OSSOFF: Thank you for that question. I think the best way to answer would be to share a few facts about that goatfucking son of a bitch Mike Collins.

This is why I don't worry about whether ESPN gets the World Cup right back. The ESPN that had the World Cup for 20 years, that steadily improved the quality of their coverage over that time, and made it really great by the time they did their last one in 2014? That ESPN died a few years ago.

"The Brewers emailed my producer back and said, 'Sorry, we cannot accommodate the request, Pat Murphy's schedule is too busy.' What? I'm a hall of famer. I'm on First Take!" Chris Russo
