The other thing that's interesting here is that the AMA responds *as an institution* - choosing self-preservation over truth, and self-preservation over individual members' values. I mention this because it's a big factor in how this kind of political manipulation gets normalized.

HHS is trying to force Seattle Children's into doing a Sophie's choice of abandoning trans youth or see kids with cancer or other serious illness have their coverage and care disrupted. That's what this is about. Hopefully, the courts put a quick stop to this like the subpoenas.

Imagine discovering a nursing home isn’t safe. Now imagine that regulatory enforcement will likely depend more on the owners’ political status than on whether they broke the law. That’s now happening everywhere in healthcare.

Trump pardoned the man, Joseph Schwartz, last month.

I just canceled my subscription to the @theatlantic.com. This isn’t just delusional, it’s dangerous. Don’t normalize fear mongering racists and if you think this is “censorship” you’re the fucking problem.
Americans should NOT PAY their “student loans.” Why should they pay to work? Why is their interest being publicly traded on the NYSE? Remind me, did the people in power incur massive debt to pursue their own American dream. No they didn’t. And neither should you.

Looks like visitors to the US from Europe and other countries that are part of the visa waiver program will have to submit an enormous amount of data about themselves and their families, including DNA, if proposed new rules are accepted
