At some point, people might stop dropping open weights. But even then, all the models up until that point will still exist, like a used car market. Every new release basically sets a new efficiency standard past which everything must either be cheaper or faster. The competitive pressure rn is crazy

I had 30 notifications on here, and my first thought was that someone was raging @ me because *waves* pick any of the readily available reasons But turns out that it was just a data error and a bunch of my existing notifications had become unread! This displays how I feel about social media tho

Seeing other people release the same things you're working on, and them getting traction bc they're "well known in the space" Just tells me that I need to push harder / get things stamped and rolled out faster

It's shocking to me how many left leaning people seem to actively prefer being upset over any kind of curiosity. Seems much more common over the last 4 ish years. I don't really care to adopt the majority opinion here. I'm fine with not having a community centered around identity politics.
