I taught myself programming as a 13-year-old to make Minecraft mods. My dad works in construction, my mother in childcare. "Computer class" at school included "how to use Word 2008" I did this myself. I can't help but wonder if a more restricted internet would ever allow for such self-development.
you should meet life long friends on IRC and then reconnect with them on discord decades later
basically what i'm trying to say is that every 14 year old needs to get into some discord drama
i think some people are missing the line of thought this is coming from, so it sounds crazy knowing that line of thought makes them sound less crazy, but like 100% more...illiterate and also makes me feel like the author is not good at putting words together lol
okay but consider: sqlite shell history search and it sync shell history between your machines via iroh
i am once again saying that macos window management is truly and uniquely terrible
second this that i managed to overcome almost all attempts to restrict my internet usage both gave me the ability to escape severe child abuse and also to essentially pre-train myself for my career (i was a nerd)
this isn't very popular to say, but for me personally, it was good that i had unrestricted internet access when i was a minor. i was aware of what i was doing and enjoyed it. i don't look back on it and go "well that was a mistake", i look back on it and wish i could do it for the first time again

okay, first new feature since the rust rewrite blzrd now used systemd-run to activate closures in the background, meaning a flakey network connection (e.g. a tailscale restart during activation) doesn't screw up your deployments. tangled.org/aly.codes/bl...

okay now let us link more than like 4 devices signal.org/blog/linked-...
More linked devices are on the table (and the Android tablet)
The latest update for Signal Android introduces comprehensive support for linked devices. Now you can easily link another Android phone or Android tablet to your Signal account. Thanks to significant ...

i do want to use nixos more but it's just unreal how basically unusably bugged so many things are and then i use fedora and none of those issues that drove me crazy even exist
tbh herdr has finally made terminal multiplexers *work* for me + i use neovim now so I think I could probably just get a 15" macbook air and be super happy as long as it wasn't running macos
tbh I forgot appa actually just fucking works and have been using it for several days across three machines lol
