I know it seems like a heretical idea, but one way to figure out if a preprint is really interesting (to you) is... to read the preprint. Then, in the spirit of sharing, send a note to authors: a simple kudos or a more detailed question. I do this a dozen times a year. It's awesome. Try it.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the shifting baseline concept as applied to everyday life. People in their 20’s now have no memory of highly functional systems, products (from blenders to sweaters) that were so well made you could hand them down across generations, or even helpful customer service.

I’ve been experimenting with embedding a Shiny app directly inside my Quarto presentations. Instead of moving through static slides, the audience can now actively engage with data in real time. It changes the dynamic from “here’s what I found” to “let’s explore this together.” #RStats #Quarto
