I have three proper interviews with engineers and hiring managers next week and one the week after that. Still feel like I'm doing pretty well? I've cooled off applying for every job that comes up to instead try and prepare for these.

I would be so interested to know when Siri AI requests get handled locally, by Private Cloud Compute, or sent to Google. Or maybe it's a combination a lot of the time? When you talk to the chatbot, is that ever on device? Really interesting.
Finished a 2-hour coding project for an interview. Hopefully I covered everything they wanted to see.
I wonder if there's a market now for apps (or an app) that essentially just connect to various APIs and make them digestible in a way Siri AI can understand?
I hope Siri AI encourages apps to make their intents situation a lot better. Trying to use it really highlights how many apps have done the bare minimum by basically just having intents to launch the app while not exposing their data model at all.
I know if they do it, it probably won't be for another, which sucks, but I already wish Apple would add folders and projects to the Siri app. With how fast things move with LLMs, I hope they aren't planning to only update the models and capabilities yearly.
I got there with this, but I have no idea how I would have without documentation or the ability to look anything up. One thing that sucks about data structure and algorithm interview questions for jobs using Swift is that a lot of them use strings, and string slicing in Swift is the worst.
Oh cool, I got in on the Siri AI beta. Excited to compare it to using ChatGPT on my phone.
I hate to admit this, but whiteboard interviews were better than what we have now. You got to visualize things, and it didn't matter if you knew the specific syntax or method name. It just mattered if you could think the problem through and explain it.
My plan is to spend maybe an hour a day on LeetCode questions. My plan is just that I don't totally choke on things I should definitely know going into interviews.
So happy sidebars got reverted back to the old style in macOS 27. Not sure what's going on with the traffic lights, but I'll get used to them.
Sometimes it feels like I used to want more for myself than I do now. With everything that's happened, all I'm really looking for anymore is some stability.
Is this what people outside tech are feeling? I think the iPhone Duo looks pretty neat. I'd like something iPad mini size for watching video and reading, but I don't really want one for anything else. Also, who is talking about physical keyboards on phones in 2026? That's wacky.
Apple iPhone duo disappointment aside, can we talk about the AirPod Max headphones? #tech #headphones #apple #trending
The police are advocating for me to slow down my car, but that's how China wins.
Man. Search and Siri are going to be so optimized. It's been going for like a day now.
Whenever I start a new job and get health insurance again, I need to go to the doctor and really figure out why I'm tired all the time. It's not sleep apnea, but this can't be normal.
I have an app idea I'm going to start working on tomorrow. I feel it's a good use of this downtime to get up to speed on APIs I haven't had a reason to use before.
Thinking about a company I know who is going to have to do a lot more work to support iPhone Duo because they think they're too special to use native controls and do all of their layout by hand.
I've been applying to jobs for about two weeks, and next week I have three recruiter calls, a coding assignment, and an interview with someone at Apple. I think I'm doing quite well? This is definitely the most proactive I've ever been about finding a job.
Before my dad died a year ago and my mom got dementia there were all these things that I needed to win or convince them of that felt really important. The moment those things happened, they stopped mattering. They probably never mattered. Now I just wish I spent more time with them.

So anyway, the Madring sucks. Crazy how you can build a whole new track, knowing the cars that will be racing on it, and make it this bad. #Formula1
My Portland hot take is that St. John's Twin Cinemas is the best movie theater in town. #Portland
Went and saw Coyote vs. Acme last night. It was really good! Not too long, which I liked. It made me realize movies for older kids don't really exist anymore. Everything is either for little kids or it's a Marvel movie.
I really don't know where I'm at with the Duo. It looks pretty cool? I need to dig into everything apps can do with it. I don't know if it's for me personally.
A lot of bumping into walls during free practice in Madrid. Track looks pretty unforgiving and sketchy. Hope nobody gets hurt. #Formula1
