About 2/3 through with Polybius, by Collin Armstrong. I think it’s aimed at a younger audience, but scarier than “Fear Street.” It would make a lovely movie. Polybius itself remains generic and nebulous herein. And the protagonists are a little bit Lex & Tim Murphy. Not a bad little summer read!

The weirdest thing about writing fiction in this decade is we're held to a higher standard than reality. We're told to write with nuance, that even villains should have layers, and meanwhile the AI guys are literally shredding art and admitting they want to monopolize basic thinking for profit.
