#Halloween26 I caught this one called Sunrise the other day, and I'm not sure if it was good or not. It's kind of King-ish in that it's about a small NW town full of racism, led by a murderous Guy Pearce. He conspires with his superstitious mother and brother to leave the Sherriff played by...
For today's #Halloween26, I'll do another gay horror movie. This time it's Bite Marks, a silly movie about a couple who hitchhike with an is he/isn't he gay truck driver. The three end up besieged by vampires. Stephen Geoffreys from Fright Night (1985) returns to vampire movies
For today's #Halloween26, let's go with an obscure gay slasher film called Hellbent from 2004. This follows a group of attractive 20-somethings on Halloween as they are stalked by a muscle daddy with devil horns. Not a great movie, but still fun.

How far will he go to in order to fix the mistakes he's made, and can he be caught before it gets deadly? myshorter.link/LYImS9
This next one for #Halloween26 is another sleeper, The Radleys, starring Damian Lewis as a father in a family of vampires who are trying to "go straight." Their lives are upended when Dad's twin brother shows up trying to convince the impressionable youth to follow their blood lust.
The 3rd Salem's Lot for #Halloween26 came out 2 years ago direct to HBO Max. It starred Lewis Pullman as Ben Mears, and featured a scene stealing Alfre Woodard as the town doctor. It's better than the TNT one, but doesn't explore any of the Marsten House back story or Ben's connection
The second Salem's Lot for #Halloween26 is the TNT version from 2004 starring Rob Lowe and Andre Braugher. Rutger Hauer plays a master vampire yet again after his role in the Buffy movie, with his Buffy costar Donald Sutherland as a very creepy Straker.

For the next 3 days of #Halloween26, I'll be highlighting Salem's Lot, with its 3 versions. The first is the original from 1979 from Tobe Hooper. This one is the archetype, with its small town creepiness and the iconic scene of the Glick boys floating at the windows.

#Halloween26 For today, it's Silver Bullet from 1985, a small town werewolf tale starring Corey Haim and Gary Bussey, in what I'd call some of their best acting. It's a fun movie from a Stephen King story that is ultimately about family.
For the 3rd #Halloween26 movie, it's Fright Night from 1985, my all time favorite horror movie. This has everything: it's definitely scary, with a villain who's both sexy and horrific, it borrows generously from others, and there's gay subtext for days.

Today for #Halloween26, I'll switch to werewolves with Howl (2015), starring Picard's Ed Speleers as a train conductor on a red eye. He's trying to protect passengers as the train is stuck in the forest with a pack of werewolves.
#Halloween26 I've been looking forward to October this year since last year to do a rewatch of Sinners. It was mesmerizing; between the music, the cast, and the story of an Irish vampire who was colonized coming to colonize a black juke joint for their music
You too guys… I found a lump in my breast as a teenager way before transition! 🩵
