Collegiate splatoon circumvents this! Players can come and go but the schools will remain. As collegiate teams have gotten stronger and stronger over the years it’s easy to see a future where it starts drawing viewership akin to high level. The regional aspect also makes it easy to pick a team!
Sendou@sendou.ink · 3mo agoMain issues I see is that there isn't a team without its players in this game. A sports team or esports brand replaces its whole roster and yet the same team exist. In this game you can increase e.g. "Moonlight" brand but it doesn't have similar lasting impact.
I look at this differently (though I agree with their points). The bigger issue is keeping casual players motivated to play the game. Their own desire to continue to play the game. Most comp splat content is focused on the SCENE rather than the GAME. It (accidentally) alienates a new audience.
