And unlike Target and Walmart, they have not opened up their e-commerce platforms to third-party sellers of cheap garbage.

We very clearly live in a time of mostly elite derangement. I think the mood of the voting public is mercenary: they think of right wing populists as wealth totems. But I do believe that the elites have truly driven themselves insane in the last five years.

People on here have mulled this over a lot but it’s weird how Liberals have the reputation of being hypocritical but the whole bit of conservative morality is they literally don’t mean you’re supposed to follow it, but that some people get punished and that’s the way it’s supposed to be
Anyway I‘m casting around for some other way of thinking about the current craziness that’s not just cultural fascism. Like it might also be mass affluence and the poor fit of the existing education system for citizenship in a disorienting but richer world
