Including Alexander, the Pueblo County commission gave critical reviews to three of the four district judges. All of them were former public defenders and were accused of being too lenient. The only judge who got a unanimously favorable review? A former prosecutor.

The commission for Crowley County also unanimously found Judge Jeremy Boyce had too many problems and hadn't improved in three years. The commission for Pueblo County felt Judge William Alexander was too sympathetic to defendants and engaged in ex parte communications.
