Lemme tell you young ladies something as a girl who used to follow ALL the rules: I wish I hadn’t wasted so much time. It doesn’t matter what you do, you WILL be criticized—it might as well be for what you want to do/be/see/experience

Getting beat as a kid didn’t just make me behave it made me afraid. Afraid to speak up, to make mistakes, to stand up for myself. Fear isn’t respect. I refuse to raise my future kids like that. They’ll trust me, not fear me. Discipline doesn’t require violence.
