WISHLIST VOID PROFIT ON STEAM: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4687990/VOID_PROFIT/ Hello! Corvid Food is a one-person development team. Is it a team? Doesn't matter, I'm working on games. Hope you like them! Also @dgarvanski.bsky.social

Early in the development of VOID PROFIT I had the idea of factions all accepting and giving different currency. But it was just SO tedious. The game didn't even have its deep systems then. The game is "tedious" by design but that was a completely worthless "one more thing to keep track of" mechanic

Hiring someone to do a trailer for your weird space trading game where you're barely holding on due to rent payments is hard. You have to give them feedback like it's a horror game but it's actually and existential dread game hiding behind "space trading." Nothing scary, really. #indiegame

A single comment on my Devlog on Steam (thank you for commenting on my Devlog on Steam) changed my day yesterday. There are these #gamedev or general dev things you think you're the only one that notices because you've looked at your game for hours. Nope! Point is I know how to edit fonts now.

Been playing VOID PROFIT for hours today and it just hit me that I've created what is, basically, the opposite of an automation game. The more you advance, the more stuff you have to do manually. The real advancement is lowering the pressure on you to do everything right. Your circumstances change.

I guess I should release one of my earlier games on itch.io for free. It's pretty simple. You just have to hit the right keys on your keyboard before "a file downloads." The idea is you're downloading stuff and pretending that you're a hacker. It's the visual test for the more complex Void Profit.

Got completely RAILED in playtesting today. No good weapons installed, mid-level shield. Was carrying a lot of cash in a pirate-controlled area. Lost like 30%+ of my money to "tolls." Sometimes my attention span drifts away from the systems I've actually created.
