20 years ago I was the 5497th person to sign up for twttr. Initially, I used it as a notes/reminder app via sms. But from 2008-2016 Twitter exploded and was a lot of fun. I met people, won plane and concert tickets, learned of bands and restaurants, etc. I miss how positive that site was back then.

The funniest thing would be if Chicago's O'Hare airport, which is a much more significant airport than Palm Beach's, were renamed to Barack H. Obama International Airport. BHO is taken, but OOO/KOOO are available IATA/ICAO codes. @chicago-city.bsky.social? @mayorofchicago.bsky.social? #avgeek

I was wondering why I had so many #SkyTeam flights, but I had completely forgotten that Continental Airlines was in that alliance before the merger with United Airlines began in October 2009. Kudos to @myflightpath.club for providing tracking to this level of detail! #avgeek #continentalairlines

In my day, $18 of Taco Bell was enough food to kill you.
I just went to Taco Bell. I got two chalupas and a small drink. It was $18. This it's what people mean when they talk about the economy feeling bad right now. Everything is expensive. Cheap things are no longer cheap. You can't leave your house without spending $50.
NEW from me: Americans are set to lose nearly $250B gambling this year—a record high, up more than 60% since 2019—and that's before counting unofficial betting via prediction markets or crypto Can anything stop America's gambling boom? 🧵
