With Hat Atelier is, no exaggeration, one of the most mesmerizing comics out there. Kamome Shirahama isn't "good at drawing" - she has great technical skill, yes, but she controls the flow like no one else, comes up with imagery that projects a world, and roots all of it in the themes of her series

Only three days to the release of OMENS OF CHAOS! Technically still a pre-order if you to it today! There are three "legacy characters" in our core cast, characters who existed but lacked direct lore. They are: 1. Alandra, daughter of Talrand. 2. Jamira, daughter of Angrath. 3. Kequia Akosa.

It's Trans Day of Visibility today. If you're trans and are raising money for something (I don't care what it is), reply to this thread and I will boost you. If you are a cis person, take a look and find someone to support if you can. Everyone give this a share after.

The worst part of being a DM for me is that I DESPERATELY want to talk about the ideas I have for the game im running, BUT I CAN'T b/c all of my friends are players in said game!!! Now all of these crazy ideas and scenarios are just stuck on my head and can't be freed until they happen...

I cannot stress this enough: this is not possible in a literal technological sense: you cannot train an AI and expect even comprehensible results with under ~1 million pieces of data, nobody can supply all that with the variance needed. You can only achieve it through wanton scraping

Larian CEO says Divinity could have gen AI assets in it but only if the tools are trained on the studio's own data. "If we use a GenAI model to create in-game assets, then it'll be trained on data we own." https://kotaku.com/divinity-gen-ai-larian-bg3-reddit-ama-2000658429

Been thinking on the use of GenAi for mood boards. Ethics and legal risks aside, I truly believe using GenAi as references deprives one of many pivotal things. Here’s a blurb on what I mean:

Some thoughts:
When using GenAi as a mood board you don't get sources. This means you deprive yourself from knowledge.
You generated a location? You deprived yourself of knowing more about the interesting parts of the world and why things came to be.
Generate an armor or costume? You deprived yourself on real world techniques, function, form and history.
You generated art inspirations? You deprive yourself of learning about artists from history or lock out living ones from potentially being hired.
Ethical issues of using GenAi models aside, one ends up making visuals mood boards devoid of reality and history. With it one deprives themselves from learning about our world and who is living in it, inadvertently making your work weaker, because of how detached it is from our shared human reality and history.
