Folks need to be told that things are going to get WORSE after the midterms, not better. Otherwise, we'll have no umbrella for the shitstorm of propaganda saying its "our fault". Diesel keeps rising. The damage is locked in and we have to weather it. The worst (R) policies hit after the midterms.

Those who assume that the midterms are going to be a normal election where the outcome is clear and there is not a concerted effort by Republicans to create chaos need to rapidly and completely be disavowed of that assumption. They won't accept defeat well. This one is going to get sideways.

Our task: As good as things look right now, no one - and I mean no one - needs to be taking their foot off the gas until the election is over. They are going to try some nonsense, they are desperate. We need to bring guns to a knife fight for once, and not assume anything, not put up with anything.

It doesn't "raise legal questions". There's no question of "Can Trump Pay Each American Adult $5000 Legally?" It's not a "dubious pledge". It isn't just "may not be possible legally". It's not a "creative and rule breaking proposal". IT'S ILLEGAL - and another FELONY. Media - REPORT THAT.

I'd love for anyone to tell me how enforcement against Trump - even after the midterms - is going to happen. Please, enlighten me on the enforcement mechanisms that will be used to bring him to justice for his crimes. Think it through - they captured enforcement first. Justice is not automatic.

Of course what he said was egregious and horrible, but those of you expecting there to be consequences must not have been paying attention - those are missing entirely, and have been for some time. WRONG DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY CORRECT ITSELF. Consequences require enforcement.

There has not been a presidential election that reflected the exact vote of the people in the United States since 1996. This is one of those things that when you say it, people look at you like you are a conspiracy theorist, but I am putting it down here so future folks know some of us knew.

Entirely too many of our institutions assumed we would elect honorable people. You don’t build a government assuming everyone who ever controls it will have good intentions. You build constitutional safeguards assuming eventually SOMEBODY WON’T. Our founders tried, but the safeguards were corrupted.

I remain profoundly disappointed in the lack of critical thinking shown when people attribute the damage being done to the United States to incompetence instead of to a dedicated effort to degrade the USA on behalf of a foreign adversary. This is literally the most effective attack in history.

Your arguing over it is the point. Something else they dont want you talking about is happening. At some point, we have to realize that. Surely.

Their actions make more sense when you think about them in terms of reflexive control than immigration policy. The reason they are going after the Haitians is so they can have some visible action to fire up the xenophobes before the midterms. They turn out their base by fear of the "other".
