It was a big story when Max Miller claimed he received death threats from a pro-Palestine commuter on I-90 last year. None of it rang true: how could threats be heard at high speed on the highway? We now know that many of Miller's accusations are suspect. Moe Tkacik recounts them:

Max Miller’s Endless Wars - The American Prospect

The Ohio congressman fabricated a wild story of death threats on Interstate 90 and casually destroyed the life of a constituent. It’s one of many accusations Miller, now facing a spousal abuse scandal...

So, join with us today. Remind them that the power is in their hands, and that they are responsible for whatever Trump does. If they choose not to act, they are culpable. Our action is here. It'll only take a minute. Send it to your friends! citizensimpeachment.com/congress-mus...

Take Action: Congress Must Act - Citizens' Impeachment

November is the IMPEACHMENT MIDTERMS. If we’re going to hold Trump and his cronies accountable, we need representatives who are willing to do it. That’s where our Courage Candidates come […]

This is why impeachment is so important, and why the complete abdication of responsibility from our elected representatives is so repulsive and frustrating. *Only Congress is empowered to remove members of the other branches for abuse of power.*

In fact, many would argue that Congress is the *MOST* powerful branch of Congress! In the 51st Federalist Paper, James Madison wrote: "In republican government, the legislative authority necessarily predominates." Hardly a powerless branch!

But more to the point, these people have enormous power, should they choose to wield it. Our Constitutional system was designed with checks and balances. This is elementary school level civics! Is it possible the founders just forgot to put a check from Congress on the President? Of course not!

Can we rant for a minute? It's utter *bullshit* when John Cornyn claims "There's nothing we could do to rein in Trump." OF COURSE THERE ARE THINGS THEY COULD DO! Not voting to confirm Trump's personal attorney for AG should be the bare minimum.

'There's Nothing We Could Do to Rein in Trump,' GOP Senator Says

John Cornyn, senator from Texas, said on Tuesday that there's "nothing" Republicans could do to "rein in" Trump's push for an anti-weaponization fund.

Happy first day of school, Central Florida! 📚🎒 Recently, my constituent services team was out in Bithlo for a back-to-school giveaway, helping make sure students and families have the resources and supplies they need to make this school year a success.

The real Pentagon reporters continue to do amazing work uncovering deception, lies, and corruption despite every conceivable obstacle put in front of them by Trump, Hegseth and his spokesman - including threats to prosecute them personally and their sources. Brilliant and brave.
