Day 16, The Final Day! We set our course and into the mountains we went for a final time. We'd intended to highway to get in early, but traffic and the weather had other ideas. Still, it was fun winding through Appalachia, things getting more and more familiar with every turn. And now we're home!

Day 13 was service and rest so I only have pet pictures xD Day 14 saw us on the road again! Up into Michigan to cross the Mackinac Bridge, try pasties, and hunt Petoskey stones as the sun set. We'd officially set our sights south, toward home. Day 15: Met friends and covered a lot of highway!

Day 12: The Longest Day. Friends, we were driving from 6am to midnight, mostly on highway. Do not recommend xD 16A Iron Mountain Road is a fun, twisty little number if you get there early! Saw Mt. Rushmoore, figured out wtf Wall Drug was, and cruised through Badlands National Park on our way to WI.

Day 11 Saw us anxiously checking the road status as we packed up, but the Beartooth pass remained closed. I'd been looking forward to this road for months, and am still sad we couldn't take it. With the rain finally dried up, we set off to find alternate routes to our stop in South Dakota.

Day 10: I was really looking forward to Yellowstone National Park, but the weather was abysmal; a mix of rain and snow, and the place was packed even still. We were miserable. They closed the roads we'd planned to take. Nothing went right. We did see some wildlife as we were leaving, though!

Day 9 was a rough travel day. Rain, rain, rain, and dropping temperatures made what should have been a straightforward, shorter day a slog. When it cleared up in the afternoon we really hoped that was the end of it. Was neat to see it actively snowing on the tops of the nearby mountains, though!

Last day. What an amazing adventure. Another 6137 miles (10,527.7 total), visited amazing places, met amazing people and battled through weather from 36F all the way to 96F including snow. Was it a perfect trip? No. But incredible experience with my partners and memories we wont forget. ❤️

Day 8! The rain abated, giving us a lovely overcast day in Glacier National Park. Going to the Sun road had just recently opened for the season, and it was a breathtaking drive! We were lucky; it closed again the morning after we went through due to a storm out of Canada (foreshadowing...)

Day 7: Still mostly travel! We spent some of the morning hiking to Kootenai Falls in Montana before trying to beat an oncoming storm. The falls were beautiful! No luck on escaping the rain, though.

Day 6 was largely a travel day so I don't have many pictures, but it wasn't without a little fun along the way! Mount Hood was a gorgeous companion on the horizon for most of our morning. Some really interesting roads around it, too!

Day 5 - Crater Lake, which was beautiful but really crowded. Originally we'd planned to drive the entire rim, but the traffic turned us away into the pumice desert below. It was deserted, so we got a chance to recreate one of our favorite Death Valley shots! And found another cute diner for lunch :)

Day 4 saw us back over the mountains cruising through the Avenue of the Giants and collosal Coastal Redwoods. After brunch in a cute mountain diner, we said goodbye to the Pacific coast and ascended into what was the most werewolfy vibes forest I've ever seen as we crossed into Oregon.

Day 6 we left Oregon, past Mt. Hood and made our way through Washington to end up in Pend Oreille Idaho. There were some pretty sights but mostly a travel day to set us up for what im most excited for. Glacier National Park is tomorrow!

Film does funny things sometimes. I was setting up for a shot I really wanted at Lassen Volcanic National Park but was on my last shot of that roll, and the result was this really cool "crop" the camera did for me. Sad to not get the shot I wanted but film does as it pleases!

The theme of Day 3 was Endure. A mild forecast turned to a scorcher, with traffic and crowds maling it rough. We couldn't park anywhere at Lake Tahoe...They can't all be bangers. Lassen Volcanic Park redeemed the whole day, though. It was beautiful, and our first time seeing hydrothermal activity!

Day 2 we got up early and raced away from the civilization, after a short stop at Laguna Seca, of course. Yosimite and Tioga Pass did not disappoint. The mountain views and falls were spectacular! Gotta see if I can find a tee or sticker for Inyo National Forest xD

Y'all ready for roadtrip highlights? Day 1 started early. A quick detour to get a picture with the Hollywood sign before we escaped LA to hit Route 1, the Pacific Coast Highway! The water is SO BLUE it doesn't even look real.

Day 1 in the books. We started at the Hollywood sign, took some twisties and ran up the Pacific Coast Highway to Big Sur, ending in Monterey. Riding came back do quickly and the views were incredible!
